In 1910, Mr. Gustav Hammesfahr established in his hometown (Solingen – Germany) a company, producing
a
range of accessories for the leather industry, later on also locks
and other small metal parts for briefcases and wallets.
Telegram address of this company was “HAGUS”.
In 1950 Mr. C. Luchtenberg Sr. took over this company and re-organised it towards a company specialised in production
for automotive parts. First offered parts were ashtrays and mirrors for 2 wheelers. In second stage, the company started developing outer mirrors, exhaust pipes and wheel arches for cars and vans.
In 1957 HAGUS realized its first OEM contract with the company Auto Union. As from that moment, HAGUS invested
all its efforts in developing the mirror business.
In the 80’s, HAGUS became the first company worldwide to develop an E-marked rear and front foldable mirror.
Due to the success of mirror sales and due to the new range line (roof rails), the company opened in 2000 an
additional production site in Hilden (Germany).
In 2007 Unipart NV with headquarters in Tienen (Belgium) took over the mirror business from Mr. C. Luctenberg Jr.
Actually HAGUS - Belgium is specialized in production and distribution of all automotive mirrors, mirror accessories
and caravan mirrors.
The employees of HAGUS have always devoted themselves to the slogan "More safety for drivers" (Sicher Fahren).
Beside the own produced car and van mirrors, HAGUS also developed a wide range of caravan mirrors and accessories.
The names “SEKUNDO” and “HUCKEPACK” are names that stand for quality and assurance.
